MATT HARVEY Editor, DJ, Match.com Researcher It’s not always practical to travel with two pairs of skis, but if you can muster it, it’s the way to go. This is the second season in a row I’ve picked the Salomon Suspect as my park ski of choice. They have the perfect amount of flex: stiff, but not over-bearing, with tons of life in the tip. When I need to ski anywhere that has fresh snow on the ground, I ride a pair of Folsom Custom skis that the company was nice enough to make for me. I always have and most likely always will use Salomon bindings. I can trust the STH 16s more than my accountant. Amplid (not pictured) released new boots this season, and I was able to cop a pair. They are so comfortable it should be illegal. I don’t back the “drink-and-drive” mode (aka, walk mode) naming, but with that scratched out, they’re all-time. For poles, Scott is still the leader in the game, so I use ‘em. Outerwear is as important to me as skis. With that in mind, I am sticking with my long-love, Oakley. The Alps jacket and pant combo (Tanner Hall Pro Rider Series) is perfect for all weather, so I only need one outfi t in my bag. Off the hill, my Helly Hansen old-man sweater gets me all the ladies. I was a long-time fan of Oakley goggles, but ever since I put on a pair of the Electric EG.2s, I haven’t gone back. They fit my big face, look rad and have the best peripheral vision in the game, hands down. For sunglasses, I switch between a couple different pairs of Oakleys and Electrics. One of my go-tos is the Oakley Jupiters with blue iridium lenses. I keep my hands protected and comfortable with the Hestra Seth Morrison 3-Finger Pro gloves. Ever since I first tried Hestra gloves four years ago, I can’t wear anything else. The new 3-Finger — designed by Seth himself — are the perfect combination of warmth and functionality. You can’t get any better than Dakine’s Sequence pack for trekking camera gear around the mountain. All my backcountry gear (BCA beacon, Dakine shovel and probe) fits nicely in the pockets, and my gear stays dry and safe thanks to the padded photo cube. I never go anywhere without my Skullcandy Icon II headphones. With the fancy button on the cord, I can start/stop my music or answer phone calls, all without having to take my iPhone out of my pocket. And on my feet, the Nike 6.0/3 Inches of Blood collabos are the sweetest shoes since the Nike/Iron Maiden collaboration. -MH

i’m stuck between the suspect and the volkl wall. anything that sets the suspect apart?
Tough choice. They’re both great skis. Any chance you can ride them at a demo-day?
When/Where will the Oakley Alps Jacket be available? Anyone know?
