After winning “The Ultimate Ski Bum” contest put on by the fine folks at Tourism BC, Chris Tatsuno got to travel the Powder Highway for three months. Tatsuno referred to the Powder Highway as “a special place on earth”. In episode 5 of the Powder Highway Road Trip, Tatsuno got a chance to go snowcat skiing in the Selkirk Wilderness. “Skiing in Selkirk was one of the best experiences of my trip. Not only was the snow amazing, I was snowcat skiing with the people who invented the snowcat operation. It was just a cool feeling and a good time.” Along with skiing in Selkirk, Tatsuno also indulged in the fine canadian delicacy that is poutine thought his trip. He claims his favorite poutine was found in Whitewater and Nelson BC, which also happened to be his favorite place along his journey. “Nelson is a unique place with a special feel. The town is so radical and the people are nice”. Although the journey is over, Tatsuno is already waiting for next season and the snow to fall. “I can’t wait for next season. I want to get back into the freesking competition scene. From promoting it to hucking my meat in it, it’s a fun circuit to be on.” Make sure to be on the lookout for Tatsuno next season but for now check out the Powder Highway mini series and Tatsuno’s other antics along the Powder Highway Road Trip. — Steven Hemphill Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 9Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 8Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 7Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 6Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 5Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 4Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 3
Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 2
Powder Highway Road Trip – Episode 1We’ve called POC Team Athlete Chris Tatsuno the ultimate ski bum before. Now our claims have been justified. Tatsuno is currently on a road trip across British Columbia, traveling by car on the Powder Highway , thanks to “The Ultimate Ski Bum” contest put on by the fine folks at Tourism BC. With this little video edit Tatsuno won a 3 month long, all expense paid trip (read car, lodging, lift tickets, heli time, cat time all paid for) on The Powder Highway in BC. Try not to be jealous, cause this guy earned it. Watch this video: Powder Highway Winning VideoSo where is Tatsuno going on this trip? You can count on Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, Red Mountain, Panorama, and the list goes on. Heli skiing, cat trips, back country booters, dirty dive bars and hotel rooms packed with dozens of Tatsuno’s closest friends. We are lucky enough to be one of his friends, and you bet your sweet ass we’re going up to shred with him before the end of his trip. ![]() Fortunately the POC crew set Tatsuno up with his own personal filmer. Justin Dersham (One 5 Media is his film company) is by Tatsuno’s side every waking moment documenting the whole trip. And we have the exclusive on the videos. Here’s episode 1 for your viewing pleasure. ![]()

sick vid anyone know where I can get the song?
does anyone else find it messed up that this promo is sponsored by a tobacco product? I know they promote everywhere and its a free world but to be promoting to a market of kids and active people is wack.
